So how did an American boy end up married to a Czech girl? Well...
God works in mysterious ways, and our lives are proof of that. Tyrel grew up at Scottsdale Bible Church in Arizona and became a christian at a very early age. He stayed diligent in study and growth in his walk with Jesus through AWANA and the youth ministry at SBC. He became very interested in missions work from an early age and went on his first short-term trip with the youth group in 2000. During this time, Tyrel was also pursuing filmmaking as a career path, believing that the way to reach people at a core level through visual storytelling.Tyrel first visited the Czech Republic in 2003 serving at an evangelistic English camp organized by Josiah Venture. He immediately fell in love with the people and the very personal and relational nature of the ministry. Tyrel returned to serve with English camps in the summers meanwhile pursuing his filmmaking career at home.
Natalie grew up in an atheistic family in Český Těšín, Czech Republic, a town on the eastern border of the country. She first attended a Josiah Venture English camp in 2008 where she was first confronted with the Gospel. After further follow-up and exposure to the church through her new Christian friends, Natalie started a personal relationship with Christ, and through her witness, her mom also became a Christian.
Tyrel and Natalie met at English camp in 2009 where Natalie was the camp translator. Their friendship grew over years serving together at English camps. Natalie was studying business, politics, and English at university in Prague at the time. Tyrel moved to the Czech Republic in 2015 to work full-time as a media specialist with Josiah Venture. Natalie and Tyrel's friendship quickly blossomed into a romantic one.
Tyrel and Natalie were married in January 2018 and make their home in Prague. Tyrel continues using his media skills to bolster Josiah Venture's online presence in the Czech to engage students and connect them to the local church. Tyrel is also helping to further develop the concept of video evangelism and sharing the gospel through media. Natalie serves in the local church and is pursuing the inroads she has to be a light in the areas of business and politics.
